South Forks Hydroelectric Project

The South Forks Hydroelectric Project is an irrigation canal hydroelectric facility utilizing an existing drop on the Twin Falls Canal Company water delivery system near Twin Falls, Idaho. A 2,700-foot-long, 144-inch-diameter steel penstock carries water downstream to the powerhouse on the north bank of the Low Line Canal. During normal operations, all of the water carried in the Low Line Canal is routed through the project. The powerhouse contains two, vertical Francis turbine-generators rated at 4.1 MW each. Operation and maintenance is performed by Ida-West Operating Services, Inc.
